How to Play: Clue by Clue is a game that tests your thinking skills. It can be played alone or in a group. Solve the mystery below by going through the clues one at a time. Each time you reveal a new clue, stop and think about what it could mean, what you know from all the clues so far, and what you still need to know. After the last clue is revealed, you can read some hints or go straight to the solution!
The Situation
A man mails himself two letters. When he receives the letters, he looks at the front of the envelope. Then he throws them away without opening them.
Why does he do this?

Clue 1
The man had recently gotten a new job.
Clue 2
The new job required him to move to the capital of his country.
Clue 3
The man had been hired to fix serious problems at his new place of work.
Clue 4
On his way to the capital, he stopped at two cities. In each city, he put a letter in a post office mailbox.
Clue 5
Both letters were addressed to his new home in the capital.
Clue 6
Both letters contained one blank piece of paper.
Clue 7
The piece of paper was ordinary, white paper that he bought in a normal stationery store.
Clue 8
The first city was a two day’s drive north of the city. The second city was one day’s drive east of the city.
Clue 9
Both letters took five days to arrive.
Clue 10
The day after the letters came, he called a meeting of the regional managers. He told them he was very disappointed with them and there would have to be big changes!
